T. Boyle's Tavern
About This Spot
Stepping into T. Boyle’s Tavern, you sense immediately that this is a place where Pasadena’s local rhythms pulse at a friendly, unpretentious beat. Nestled just a block away from the bustling Colorado Boulevard, the entrance tucked into a side alley hints at something a bit off the beaten path—an overlooked gem where familiar faces gather and new stories unfold under warm, dim lighting.
The atmosphere here flows effortlessly between laid-back and lively. It’s a neighborhood bar that feels just right for settling in to watch a game on one of the many screens, but it also hums with life when live music fills the room or trivia night sparks a playful buzz. The energy is steady, never rushed, inviting you to linger with friends or strike up conversations with others drawn in by the inviting buzz and approachable vibe.
The menu, like the tavern itself, strikes a balance between classic and comforting. Whether you’re drawn by the scent of freshly fried buffalo wings or the smoky allure of a pulled pork slider, there’s a satisfying depth to the flavors that complement a well-chosen pint or a thoughtfully mixed cocktail. The food isn’t just an afterthought — it’s part of the experience here, fueling long afternoons or lively evenings with straightforward, honest bar grub that feels made for sharing.
Visitors often appreciate the attentive and welcoming service, adding to the genuine feel of the place. The drinks menu honors a strong tap selection, with fans of craft beers and whiskey finding their niche alongside those who prefer no-alcohol options—proof that inclusivity is woven into the fabric of these walls. Whether it’s the familiar comfort of a cheeseburger and fries after a long day or the satisfying crunch of loaded nachos mid-game, T. Boyle’s Tavern provides a welcoming comfort zone where good company, good drinks, and good food come together.
In a city that’s always shifting, T. Boyle’s holds steady—a kind of reliable pause where the crowd’s welcome is as warm as the wood-paneled walls, and each visit feels like stepping back into a well-loved local ritual.

Great bar to watch sports and hang out with friends. You have to try the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and barbecue sauce. The Buffalo Wings and The Buffalo grilled chicken salad are delicious.

Nice neighborhood bar with bands. One of Pasadena's oldest bars. Good selection a beers and wines. Bar food is available. Has an interesting ambience, and is a great place to meet up with a younger crowd. Happy hour and drink specials. Parking close by. Alley entrance gives it a unique look. One block off of Colorado Boulevard near South Lake Avenue. Great place to walk.

Very friendly service! I ordered the loaded fries which were delicious! Super good value! Got them with chicken only 10.95 and could easily feed two. A lot of food. Really cool atmosphere. Nice Sports Bar!!!

Great sports bar in Pasadena. They have a small selection of beer but great options. I asked my bartender to make a 'Blacksmith,' which is half Guinness and half Red Ale (Pizza Port Chronic Amber Ale). The main reason for my visit was to try their buffalo wings; they did not disappoint. I had the 'Churro' for dessert. Service and food were great, and the atmosphere was great for people looking to watch games and get some good chicken wings.

I love T Boyle’s for many reasons. First of all it’s a great sports bar. Second, their tap selection is on target and always pours fresh. Third, great chicken wings and other bar food makes it worthwhile to take time on Sunday morning to quaff a brew, eat some bar food and watch the NFL game of your choice. Fourth, the service is friendly and fast. Fifth, live music and trivia contests make it that much more fun. This is a neighborhood bar nestled in a hidden spot, but completely worth a visit when you are in Pasadena.

Classic, storied alley way bar that has grown into an institution after decades of faithful service to the unwashed masses. Still serving $3 hot dogs and pickled eggs on a bed of pretzels. Throw in a few pitchers of beers and if thats not proof that there's a God? Church.

A nice sports bar that has a lot of screens and drink options. They also serve decent bar food for a fair price. The smash burger was pretty good, patty was crispy on the edges and the bun was nice and soft. The bartenders are very friendly, you order everything from the bar as there is no table service. Overall a good spot to watch the game.

Had a good time on a Saturday night. It was quiet with a few people watching college football. Had the pulled pork Sandwich with onion rings (good). The beer was cold. Had two ballast point sculpins. The bartender (Scott) was great and very attentive. Will definitely be back last Friday of the month to see the 80's and 90's cover band.
